Just a little addendum to show you that something IS going to happen: TL DR - Does Garrosh's promotion mean that Saurfang is dead or missing, perhaps due to Wrathgate and what's going to come in IC? What do you think is the status of Saurfang in the next expansion? There could be lots of explanations, and I'd like to hear yours. Maybe he WILL actually be appointed Warchief for some time, but being weakend by the death of his son, he is challenged and actually killed by Garrosh, who assumes command of the Horde. Perhaps he will join us in battle against his son and Bolvar (and then do himself in after helping kill his only son, or banish himself from Azeroth), maybe to return to overthrow Garrosh in the next expansions or something. Due to comments made by Varok pre-Wrathgate about the screaming of children's voices (being the memories that haunt him), I would speculate that we will see either the death or self-exile of Saurfang during IC. Killed during Wrathgate, turned into a Deathknight by Arthas (seen in Yogg), apparently Turned to do the Lich King's bidding. But perhaps this isn't the whole story we have to be missing something. For the reasons above, Thrall would be able to see that Garrosh is not yet ready for a leadership role, and would've chosen the older and wiser Saurfang. IMO, Saurfang should be the true next leader of the Horde. If Garrosh is in fact made the leader of the Horde, why was he chosen over someone more suitable, like Saurfang? He must know how bloodthirsty Garrosh is, how hot tempered, etc etc. Given the events of the Scourge Invasion (Garrosh challenging the WARCHIEF to a fight), the cinematics at the release of Ulduar, and some of the sound bytes from the Argent Coliseum, there is no way in hell Thrall could think that Garrosh could be the leader that Thrall is now.
